Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and Girl’s Generations’ Seohyun will be starring in the musical “The Moon That Embraces the Sun.” Starting in January of 2014, the two will be playing the two lead roles, Lee Hwon, and Yeon Woo, respectively. First written as a novel of the same name, it was adapted into a television drama last year starring Kim Soo Hyun andHan Ga In, hitting an amazing viewer rating of 42%!
The musical premiered once before this past June, being nominated in eight different categories at the 19th Korean Musical Awards. A unique fusion historical drama with large scale choreography featuring 33 songs, the musical was a huge hit at the box office, as well.
Because the previous drama and musical adaptations of “The Moon That Embraces the Sun” have been so successful, there is that much more pressure on Kyuhyun and Seohyun. Kyuhyun has been on the musical stage before, with the previous works “Catch Me If You Can” and “The Three Musketeers.” For Seohyun, while this is her debut musical, she’s got a great support group in her fellow members Jessica, Tiffany, andTaeyeon, who have all done musicals before.
Between Super Junior and Girl’s Generation’s global fandom and the two idols’ experience on a global stage, it might be safe to say that the musical’s box office success is guaranteed.
@kimheenim Thinking now, after eating with Lim Chang Jung hyung, returning home, washed, and lying on bed, he is a cute hyung. He is happy about being busier than idols these days and happy as he talk about his fans. He’s really a cool person. Will I also have a hoobae in future to talk about happiness? I am jealous of ChangJung-ee hyung. Because he has a hoobae that’s full of sense, like me.. I don’t have a picture with ChangJung hyung because he left, saying he has to go to Music Bank, so the picture is TTS. (cr)
